Our Kids Best Friend

This past weekend we went to have our family portraits taken by my friend, Stacey Colton Photography.  She was doing mini portrait sessions as a fundraiser for a local preschool both my daughters attended.  After we had our session with her went home and tried to takes some photos with our yellow lab Cooper.  The kids were a little upset because they wanted to bring him to our session because he is part of the family.  The only problem is he is one year old and still in his "puppy" stage.   Well needless to stay we tried everything to get him to sit with the kids (even donuts LOL).  We got a kick out of doing this and it was good for a few laughs.  Maybe we will try again at Christmas?  Here is what we got...

The Power of Friends

Today I had the pleasure of joining some great friends for breakfast at Panera. (The best part was it was sort of unplanned and we were at the same place at the same time LOL).  I love starting my day with coffee, a yummy Cinnamon Crunch bagel with Hazelnut cream cheese and some great laughs. It always amazes me how "normal" I feel once I chat with friends.  The hard time I had with my girls or with their homework the night before make me realize I am not alone!  It is fun to swap stories and see how similar they all are.

I don't know what I would do without you ladies...thank you all!

A Day in the Life of a Work at Home Mom

Today has been an awesome day and I'm loving my life!

I had an amazing morning working at my daughter's preschool as a substitute teacher. You see, I do work in her class about once a month, but as a working parent. Today I had more interaction with the kids and we even got to play together during free time. The kids were really into playing "Doctor" and loved taking my blood pressure and giving me shots. Although some were not so gentle with me. LOL. I love be able to see my daughter play with her friends and teachers (who she adores)! She was so proud to show Mommy off as the other teacher.

After school we made a stop at Dunkin Donuts (of course I needed a coffee after my busy morning playing) and I treated the girls to a donut. Then we made our way to Geissler's to pick up a few things for dinner. We went home and enjoyed a nice lunch together. Then came nap time-my favorite time of day! Don't get me wrong, I do love to spend time with my girls, but I need my alone time too! This is the time I spend reconnecting with friends online, while making other new connections too. I get the chance to follow up with phone calls to people interesting in working from home. It is great to able to connect with strangers who have many similar goals to me. It is very gratifying to know I can help another person achieve their dreams.

After nap time, the girls and I played LRC together. (This is a very cool dice game they love to play). Then we all made dinner and waited for Daddy to come home. We all enjoyed a very chatty dinner together (that's what you get when you have two girls). When we are done cleaning up from dinner, I got ready to go to my first official Zumba class. I met up with my friends and we were busy shaking our butts for an hour. I came home took a quick shower and put my girls to bed.

Now I get to relax and return a few more emails before I call it a night. All in a day's work!!! Life is good being a Work at Home Mom!!!
